Women with 2020 Vision is dedicated to fostering peace, economic empowerment, political participation and cultural understanding through innovative applications of technology.
We accomplish this through training in the use of Internet, audio, video and new media technologies.
We establish mentor/mentee relationships for young women matched with successful professionals.
We train future entrepreneurs on ways to establish online businesses and communicate using new media tools.
We believe women of the global community can and should use modern technology to share the stories and challenges of their lives.
For example, our Remembering Site initiative makes it easy for women to write, share, and publish their life stories.
Our Global Tribute Fund allows anyone, anywhere to pay tribute to an inspiring women. Proceeds from this initiative fund other innovative programs to empower women.
And through My Words My Voice, we are gathering interviews of women around the globe so that their advice, experience, and wisdom can be shared.
Finally, our online mentoring program is for girls and young women in developing countries who aspire to be entrepreneurs in 2020.
You are welcome to participate as a young woman with 2020 vision and / or as a mentor who would like to coach and advise the development of a young woman. Simply browse the profiles of our mentors and mentees. Then contact those with whom you feel a mentor or mentee relationship might develop. It's that simple.
Please tell your sisters, nieces, daughters, and friends ... or any young woman who wants, deserves, and needs a boost into the world of business. It is a low-cost, long-term, high impact program to provide networking, confidence building and hope to women seeking a career in business.
About Our Logo ...
Designed by artist Katherine Krebs, the sapling tree is symbolic of the girls and young women who will someday be Women With 2020 Vision. Right now, they only have hopes and dreams but someday they will be running businesses, serving on corporate boards, serving their communities, and flourishing like a strong tree that has grown slowly and surely over the years. Like these young women, our initiatives will grow, branch out, and flourish. By 2020, our vision is to have created a network of women who have been given practical advice and support over the years so that they are armed with self-confidence, education, and a supportive network as they start, run, and govern businesses and become communities leaders in 2020.
